The NDP leader is concerned about the $11 million in taxpayer dollars used to host last weekend’s Times of India Film Awards.
Dix, who has committed to holding an inquiry into the BC Rail controversy if elected, was asked if a similar process might be needed over TOIFA costs.
"I would like to say one public inquiry at a time, although the government is challenging that with its many approaches.
“I think we have made requests, as you know, under Freedom of Information for a full accounting and I would expect a full accounting to take place. I am not sure a public inquiry is the vehicle for that."
Dix says information about the costs should be released, and examined, and then a decision should be made if an inquiry is needed.
