NPA and Vision Vancouver Councillors are fighting over who gets to help craft brewers operate a lounge or tasting room. NPA Councillor George Affleck says he filed a motion Monday only to see the Mayor Tweet about it the next day.
Affleck says his motion is being hijacked, "I was the only one who actually responded to one of the leaders in the craft brewing industry. I met with him last week and we talked a lot about this and that is how this motion was developed."
However, Vision Councillor Heather Deal says she has been working on this issue for months, "I didn't bring a motion forward on it because frankly, I knew the work was being done. So if Councillor Affleck has a motion, that is great. We will take a look at it when we see it and hopefully we can support it."
The motion will be tabled in Council next Tuesday.
