NDP leader Adrian Dix has unveiled his party's plan to reduce on child poverty and income inequality while trying to drum up support in Metro Vancouver.

Dix says he would boost the welfare rate by 20 dollars a month and tie it to inflation.

His government would also put together a bonus fund that would provide money to low- and middle-income families with children 18 and under.

A family earning 25-thousand dollars a year or less, for example, would get $829 a year.

Up in Terrace, Premier Christy Clark has promised a dividend from the liquefied natural gas prosperity fund to Terrace and Prince Rupert.

She says the funds would help the towns build infrastructure to support the many oil and gas projects proposed for the area, including the Enbridge pipeline.
