An open letter has been signed by almost 200 artists with the hope it will convince Force Four Entertainment to cancel its controversial Border Security show.
Award-winning actor and director Marcus Youssef says the letter is signed by many in the TV and film industry.
“There is a bunch of pretty significant names on that list including Naomi Klein and Carmen Aguirre and a whole bunch of pretty well known Canadian cultural producers. And I think, again, the idea is that the Force Four show Border Security is not the kind of Canadian culture we believe in."
Youssef hopes to have a meeting with the production company to talk about what can be done to end the show, which he says exploits immigrants.
The show made headlines in early March when its cameras accompanied border agents on what critics call a raid on a Vancouver worksite.
