Surrey RCMP say they haven't yet been able to interview the lone survivor of the horrific crash on the weekend that wiped out five members of one family.
Surrey RCMP Corporal Bert Paquet says the driver of the white Dodge Caravan that apparently ran a red light at 176 and 32nd, slamming into a small black car and killing five people including two children, is conscious but heavily sedated.
He says investigators haven't been able to talk with him yet and he's not sure if the man even knows what's happened.
Paquet says the man faces several surgeries this week and will likely remain in the intensive care unit for some time.
He says police have now collected what he calls "most pieces of the puzzle" that will be analyzed.
