The sudden appearance of summer-like weather across much of British Columbia comes with a price: a growing risk of flooding.
Water levels are rising along rivers and creeks in low-lying areas of the southern Interior because of rapidly melting snow.
The river forecast centre has issued stream flow advisories for the Okanagan, Similkameen, Boundary, Kootenay and Thompson regions.
People in those areas are being asked to watch out for unstable shorelines and fast-moving, unpredictable waters carrying debris.
Authorities also want children and pets kept away from stream banks.
