A retiring New Democrat MLA is ripping into his party.
Guy Gentner, who chose not to run for re-election in North Delta, says he saw Tuesday's defeat coming.
"We should have reminded the province and the people of BC what the record of this government was...and we didn't do it. Yes, we could have been positive, we could've rolled that out, but instead we thought we'd just schmooze our way in there and win the next election."
Gentner believes the NDP is out of touch with middle class British Columbians, adding he was shocked the party didn't make transportation an election issue.
"A lot of political careers have been lost because of this. This was our time in the sun and we missed out."
