A break in the search for two young men in the Kootenays.
The men, ages 18 and 21, were reported missing June 9 while they were supposed to be camping at Whitetail Lake near Kimberley.
RCMP Sgt. Laurie Jalbert says their families applied and paid for a blasting permit to blow away some rocks in the fast-moving Finlay Creek, which has revealed their truck.
"Search and rescue were brought in subsequent to that and were searching downstream of that area in case the two people involved had not been in the truck and had washed down into the creek."
Crews didn't find anyone, however, and couldn't send in dive teams until the creek slowed down.
It's believed the truck went off the road and down an embankment, crashing into the water.
