RCMP believe a camper missing for over a week has drowned in Harrison lake.
Corporal Len Vannieuwenhuizen says Mounties have found clothes belonging to Raymond Salmen.
"It is approximately 400 metres from his campsite to the North but it is a very secluded beach and it was very hard to locate and we very fortunate that our air services spotted some debris, some balloons, and that brought us to the beach where we coincidentally found his clothing."
He says authorities also believe shots police were called to investigate on June ninth were fired by Salmen in a bid to get help.
"We can't conclude with certainty but we believe that may have been the case. The shell casings we are examining and looking at the shells that were lodged in the vehicle and trying to do a comparison but we do believe that is what has transpired."
Police believe Salmen got stuck and tried to swim back to his campsite and drowned.
A search for his body will continue.
