Two children playing in a forested area of West Vancouver last evening made an interesting discovery.
They found a couple of old guns, rusting in the bush adjacent to Headland and Sprucefield Drives.
"Our officers were called and attended very quickly. We have since confirmed that one of them was a starter pistol -- it would fire only blank ammunition. The second was identified as an antique. It's a six shot revolver, a Webley .455 calibre revolver."
West Vancouver Police Constable Jeff Palmer says neither gun was loaded.
Investigators think the weapons had been there a long time.
