The City of Vancouver is out with a report on the future of the Georgia and Dunsmuir Viaducts.
The city says this is not the final decision on whether the viaducts come down -- it's an update on what has happened since the last update to council.
It talks about some benefits that might come with the viaducts' removal like nearly seven acres of land that would be created between Quebec Street and Gore Avenue.
The city says there could be about 1,000 housing units in that space, with the possibility for a minimum of 200 to 300 non-market affordable housing units.
Staff are to report back to council within 24 months or sooner.
