Here’s some good news for B.C. communities dealing with heavy rains and threatening flood waters since late last week.
Evacuation alerts are in place for areas in a few southeastern areas, such as the District of Elkford, the east Kootenays and the Hoodoos campground. Most were previously under evacuation orders.
In Elk River, a flood watch continues, but has been downgraded from a warning.
Over the weekend, the evacuation order for Hosmer was also lifted, letting people return home and survey the damage.
The provincial government is telling people with damaged homes, or those without gas or electricity, to not move back in without an inspection first.
