Early speakers are telling Vancouver city councillors to approve a new plan to demolish the Georgia and Dunsmuir viaducts.
The overall mood is positive as speakers call for council to act quickly to the proposal.
Michael Alexander says council needs to take a strong stand today, or risk the project getting off track and falling apart as more and more people get involved in the discussion.
Other supporters say delaying the demolition will limit the city's ability to deal with the viaducts in an environmentally friendly way.
Councillors are expected to vote on the latest plan on the design to tear down the viaducts tonight.
A final vote on whether to actually demolish them won't come for up to two more years.
